Luke wouldn't have restored the Jedi as he would have heeded Ashoka's warnings about how unpleasant they were in the days of the old republic. If Ashoka was killed by Vader on the death star, she wouldn't have been able to return as a ghost like Ben Kenobi. Luke would have still joined the rebels and used his force-powers to destroy the first death star, but he would never have sought out Ben Kenobi or Yoda. Ben may well have died of old age by the time Luke first set foot on Tatooine, and even if he was still alive, Luke would have no idea who he was. Without their training, Luke's first duel with Vader on Bespin wouldn't have lasted for long as he would have been less skilled with a lightsaber. He would have still saved his friends from Boba Fett and Jabba, but as a grey force-user, it would have been much easier for Palpatine to corrupt him to the dark side during the Battle of Endor.

There were different levels of lightning. Dooku used a level 2 and it’s one much more easily blocked by lightsaber or bare handed. Palpatine used more of a force storm technique, with only extremely high level force wielders able to defend against it, such as Yoda or Windu. I think the Jedi use the force to “funnel the lightning” into their lightsaber or hand. Also, perhaps left out of canon is the fact that Sith or Jedi are not the only force wielding beings out there. The witches use the force, in particular force lightning. This could be where they learned to defend against it.

This whole story is so much better than the Acolyte….

Of all the plot holes and contrivances, my biggest critique of this story is that I wasn’t feeling the bond between Ahsoka and Luke that I’d expect to feel between a mother and son. Yes, I did see glimpes of what it should have been, but it was nowhere near the extent that a story being told in this setting would require. Ahsoka felt utterly betrayed by the Jedi after the Council abandoned her at the end of s5 of The Clone Wars. Anakin was the only one who defied the Council and fought to prove her innocence, and, in doing so, saved her life. Taking on the job of raising Anakin’s infant son would have been an immensely personal mission for Ahsoka. Not just because he was her former master, mentor, and friend, but also because she would have felt she owed him for being the only one who fought for her and saving her life. I have to imagine that raising Luke would have started out with her viewing it as repaying a debt, but over time as her maternal instincts took over, she would have bonded with the baby boy and gradually come to view Luke as her *own* son. Given the heartache and betrayal she suffered at the hands of the Order, I think that'd be pretty strong motivation for her to do everything in her power to ensure Luke never experienced that kind of life. I would like to have seen not only the hardships of caring for a baby by herself in their precarious situation, but also the joys and intimate moments that come with being a parent. Moments like hearing Luke’s first words, seeing his first steps, her emotions when he says “I love you” and calls her mommy for the first time. Moments like that. And yes, a six year old, even one as gifted as Luke Skywalker, is not going to call his mother by her first name. He’s going to call her what he knows her as, and that’s mommy. Because as far as he’s concerned, that’s who she is. Ahsoka would never forget the ultimate reason why she was raising Luke and training him to become a Jedi while keeping him safe from the Empire, but I also think that in the process she would realize that she became a mom too. In this story, Ahoska became a mother first, and then a master and mentor. That’s what I would've have liked to see much more of.

This is an interesting concept. One that could serve as the premise for a compelling story. Unfortunately, the execution of this one didn’t work. Several plot holes, questionable inclusion of certain characters, other characters that had much better reasons to be here were absent, no explanation given as to why Obi-wan vanished after dropping off Luke with Ashoka, and I also sense that you were trying to tell too grand of a tale. Why was Vader on Lothal? Why did Ezra feel like a plot device? Where was the crew of the Ghost? These are just a few of the questions I thought of while watching this. Vader’s presence on Lothal is the most glaring plot hole. Darth Vader is the Emperor’s right hand. He wouldn’t just be hanging around on some backwater planet unless there was a reason the Emperor wanted him there. This felt like a plot contrivance just so Vader could be the one to kill Ashoka and cause Luke to start his fall to the dark side. I wasn’t buying the narrative of part 2 and felt you were cramming too many story elements into too short of a time. I disagree with how the second part was handled, but if you wanted to make it believable you really needed to flesh out the story and let in unfold over several more parts.

The only reason "Palpatine won" the duel (which he absolutely didn't) is because Yoda was smaller and weighed MUCH less than Palpatine did. So when the explosion happened on the floating platform when Yoda countered the force lightning and they were both tossed back, Palpatine was thrown back a smaller distance and was still fully on the platform whereas Yoda was thrown fully off of the platform minus his claws which he unfortunately couldn't use well enough to get a good enough grip on the platform edge to pull himself up. Had he not been thrown so far back, he would have gone right back and kicked Palpatine's freaking A@#
